SCHOOL ROOM

GROUP A – 8.OOPM

The emf meter went off down the aisle and Sally said her left arm was hurting. Most of us heard a squeak, the door opened, but lady at the back said she had shut the door, some debate over, if door stays shut or not. The emf meter was going off, sitting at the front on the left side. A light was seen. There was a tap behind Tracy, Tracy asked if the spirit wanted to play and the emf meter went to red (20mg+) in response to this question. John and others heard a thud, not sure if it was from outside or not. The emf meter went too red again, when asked if boy, but did not respond when asked if girl. Sally felt the presence of the boy, felt he was shy, Sally went really hot on her face and chest and Sally proceeded to lose the use of her legs and had to be taken outside. The boy went as he was upset that he might of hurt Sally, Tracy talked to the boy. Sally came back in and felt she looked like his mother, Carl and Mark got the name Tom and Thomas independent of each other. Sally saw a white light around the room and got really hot again; someone felt Thomas was aged about 6 or 7. Sally’s legs was being affected again, but interestingly some thought he had left as it had got colder, mind you Sally was at the back of the room and the others were at the front of the room.

Noises and other stuff caught on Dictaphone still to be checked.

GROUP B – 8.40PM

Gemma moved the bead on the abacus, 4 beads on row 4 on the floor standing one and 2 beads on row 6 on the windowsill, but nothing moved. This room got darker; Rosalyn saw a shadow by the 2nd window on the right by the 2nd abacus on the windowsill.

Nothing caught on Tracy’s dictaphone.

GROUP C – 9.20PM

Ellie said she could see a small figure near the marbles (9.30pm). Both Pam and Ellie saw a change in Marks face and Ellie said she saw Mark had a hump on his shoulder. Mark moved the top row beads on the abacus, 2 across and 2 across on the 5th row, when Mark checked the 4th row bead had moved.

Two separate voices caught on Tracy’s dictaphone which are on Npeg’s website.

GROUP D – 10.00PM

A bang from the back of the room, in the toilet area. Some also heard faint music. Jackie moved the abacus beads but nothing paranormal happened. Karen done psychometry on a desk, front right, the 3rd desk and got the name of Edward, ginger hair, aged 7 years old. Ruth felt like a shadow sat on the piano about to play. At 10.30pm, asking out and it was believed that the marbles moved. No emf readings. Listening to the dictaphone someone gets the name Tom but nothing else was recorded on Tracy Dictaphone.

GROUP E – 10.40PM

Just before we left, we heard a noise to the back of the room, moving position, and dull thud noise, no movement of abacus.

GROUP F – 11.30PM

Posh Harry in tow!

We entered and Louise and one other had feeling of pressure and sickness in the central aisle near the front of room. Asked out and saw several lights, red, green, blue and white in various area of the room. It was noticed that the left side as you face the front was colder and became freezing. Asked out for sounds and light, the lights were sometimes seen in response and with praise, again straight away. I stood at the back as Paul and member of public reported it was freezing. It was freezing up to my mid thigh on one occasion and a bit higher another. I asked if they were near me and sensed a little boy, Simon came to mind. I asked him to hold my hand. I asked him to go to the front to Harry and we seemed to have him running between us. My left hand went freezing and I asked if he was holding my hand Paul’s emf meter went crazy and highest up to 4 around my hand. I saw an individual finger appear to move and lift in order to access the biro I held, which I asked to be taken and i could feel rings of real iciness like fingers around my finger at one point. As Harry asked him to come and see him again Paul noted the emf on my hand which i left in the same place to check, went lower, he also verified it felt less cold. Also, the names of Tabitha, by myself and Daniel Bliston and Martin given by public. Faint music also heard.

The only Martin i could find was a Martin Tuffts, no age given, no relatives in 1851.

GROUP G AND H – 12.15AM

Marbles moved, some knocking, gate? Swinging.

The marbles seemed to have moved, and from photo evidence we are able to put a time limit to when they moved, but the footage seems to indicate that there is no human intervention, but Mark’s camera did not record, so we can not rule out human intervention as we need two angles of the trigger objects to rule out human intervention, so this will have to remain open for the present time. There were no emf readings in the school room during the prelim. It is also interesting that two separate groups got the name Tom.

OLD SHOP/SEED MERCHANTS/BLACKSMITHS

GROUP G - 8.00PM

Lots of noises, shingle moving outside, dripping noise and stop and started. Jane got the name of Michael, 1848, Lewis smelt smell of horses in little back room and Gemma saw orange colour faces on the little back room.

GROUP A – 8.40PM

Karl got the name Stan and Mark saw a woman sitting in a chair by the stove and got the name Mavis (Mark later described seeing her like the plaque/picture of the woman on the stairs) but he felt she preceded this building. Bangs and taps heard. Emf reading in the tramp area, going to red and there were no electrics in this area as Tracy checked. Lots of orbs were seen in the post office area and lights/orbs in the blacksmith area. Dowsing: two lots of dowsing were done, but only have a record of one lot of dowsing done by Alison and questions asked by Tracy. Mary Davis, died 1800’s had 1 daughter who lived here, worked here, did not like it here, musical when alive, Alison asked questions as the rods were playing tunes when using them, she sung. Daughter called Mavis, the number 36 relevant, she died here.

GROUP D – 9.20PM

The chain in the far right rattled and witnessed by Martin, Gemma, Ruth, Jenny and Lisa. Far left room, chain moved, witnessed by Sophie, Tom, Karen, Claire and Nell. Noises were heard of a stone rolling, taps and squeaks. The centre of the main shop was Kerry and Darren G, Jenny bag was kicked, no feet or person near the bag. I boot print in the corner. No emf readings. The far right chain swing again and vertical thread of lights, this was witness by Tom and Nell. Sophie thought she was touched. In the mains shop area, smells of sulphur and bad cheese were smelt.

GROUP C – 10.00PM

Nothing noted.

GROUP B- 10.40PM

Tap in the corner, near the potatoes for sale. Roberts’s radio fuzzed twice but Sues did not and she was sitting next to Robert.

GROUP E – 12.15AM

Kelly thought she followed someone into the room at the end but no one was there, moan and shuffling and whispering heard in end room.

 PUNISHMENT CELLS

GROUP D – 8.00PM

Door to the stair, opened and shut and closed, banged. Kerry had a warm right hand; cold hands by others, right hand, Kerry also had cold knees. Tom felt a gentle push. The emf meter when up in the middle of the room. In the Toilets, dripping light seen outside at the window, top left pane, left side. No emf readings.

GROUP A BRIEF VISIT

No one felt anything in the cell.

GROUP H – 10.40PM

White flashing light was seen.

GROUP B – 12.15AM

Nothing noted here.

CHERRY TREE COTTAGES

GROUP C – 8.00PM

Pam felt the bed vibrate and could not breath. Louise felt a brush across her head while on the bed and Louise and Kate was getting emf readings on the bed. Pam and Ali were scrying, Pam saw Ali’s face going from being young to really old, hair receding at the front, hair curly to straight. Ali saw Pam’s face change, went old and was like their mum’s, and then really old, odd so wrinkly, looked like melting, eyes really black.

GROUP G – 8.40PM

Jackie, the emf meter went to red by the mangle and then back to normal. Louise felt a tap on her back and coldness, Scott felt emotional. Someone felt his or her hand being touched, Scott crying. Dowsing: teenager named Emily, lived here with parent, no brothers or sisters, worked here but did not like it here. Dowsing by the mangle by Lewis: female adult called Mary, not here with husband, had children (3-5) but not with here in workhouse, use to use the mangle, travelled the country, worked here, died here.

Found an Emily Mayes, bastard child 1870 and an Emily Hayhoe, child of Charles 1912, also found Emily Luison, aged 14 in 1887.

GROUP A – 9.20PM

Stood in the small roped off room (too right) Tracy, Lisa and some others heard a male groan/moan. John sat on the chair at the table (far wall) and felt like he had sat on someone. Sally felt ill, stomach. Emf meter was going off to red; someone’s legs went shaky near the roped area, the emf meter going off again. Lisa heard a mild huh/breathe; Sally’s legs cold and wobbly, knees were cold. Sally moved into the bedroom area and felt cold in here, all felt cold in the bedroom, and people’s knees were shaking in the bedroom. Carl sat in the chair at the table, the same one John sat in and he got a cold draft around his ankles, the temperature reading started at 16.4c and then dropped rather quickly to 11.6c, we witnessed this on the temperature gage. And then it very slowly rose to 13.6c and then stayed there but then Carl could feel the coldness went and then came back, but we had to leave so we could not continue with the temperature changes. Different smells of lavender, Cinnamon and urine. I personally think the lavender smell was due to the fact there was lavender in the room and also we had been waiting outside in the rain to come in here and people were standing against the rather large lavender bush.

During the vigil we asked for the clock to be affected as it was rather loud but it was not affected.

GROUP B - 10.00PM

The clock started in the parlour and then stopped and started again, asked out and the clock speeded up. Gemma and Robert had cold breeze across their legs. Temperature in the bedroom area 13.9C. Dowsing by Sue: male adult, cannot spell, no children, not local to area, too old to work, died here in 1742, buried here. Here before workhouse, use to be farm, worked on farm not owned it, died of illness and buried on farm. The main buildings of the workhouse were erected in 1776-7.

GROUP D – 11.30PM

No emf readings. The clock changed tempo, muffled. Beside the bed, funny smell, antiseptic, Lisa had a numb chin, Karen felt sick, Claire felt uneasy, felt cold, Jackie got an orb on the bed. Tom was by himself and felt nothing. Gemma shone torch under the bed, when entered, no sagging to bed mattress, before left looked like the mattress was sagging.

GROUP F – 12.15AM

Cherry tree cottage also got nothing, we did try dowsing and got a possible male, no one with him and then he stopped responding.

Group A asked for something to happen to the clock and it is interesting that the two groups after group A, had something happen with the clock.

CHAPEL

GROUP H – 8.00PM

Tracy Dowsing: woman died in 30’s, lived, worked and died here. She had 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl. Christmas bell moved when we asked for it to move.

GROUP E – 10.00PM

Asked out but felt flat so did dowsing in pairs, emf spiked to top at front of the chapel and over the chair on its own at the front of the chapel. Dowsing: 1: an adult, had one daughter, lived her, liked it here and died here, name Hannah, in the work house less than 10 years, was a Jacket lady, coloured green. 2: adult, here with husband, did not travel the country, did not work here, did not like it here, did not die here, and died 1700. 3: Male teenager, lived with parents, had brothers or sisters, worked here, liked it here, died here. Died of illness, scarlet fever, still teenager when died, no grandparents, died in epidemic, cant spell so could not give name, were people kind to you, yes and no.

GROUP F – 10.40PM

Some deliberation as to whether to dowse or not, due to the rods making a cross and crosses are not aloud in the chapel. Paul was unsure so I asked the group and suggested a pendulum. Female, lived here with husband, no children, came here with husband, died here in 1920 but husband did not die here. Came here when 18, died in childbirth aged 37, would not give name, very strongly did not like this place, not happy now, with husband and baby now. She came here at aged 18. She advised she didnt come to chapel often did not like it A large orange sized ball of white light moved between Louise and Paul and was witnessed by several; it was also not fully dark as torches were shining on crystal and on paper so i could write results.

GROUP G – 11.30PM

Dowsing: male adult called Andrew E, not here with wife, had 2 daughters that lived here as well, travelled the country, the wife died before they came here. Worked here, liked it here, died here, in 1931. Dowsing: teenager, not live here with parent/s, had brother and sisters, worked here, liked it here, name of Andrew, died here, would not give death date.

GROUP D 12.15AM

Claire, visualized priest walking in front of a coffin, down the aisle as she moved away from the door, there was a loud bang, sounded like a kick from the outside. Karen saw the same as Claire, but also felt bad feelings, saw hanging, horrible death. Jack done some psychometry on the main chapel door, images of people waiting outside, to come in rather than being seated and waiting for the priest. Ruth done some psychometry on the pulpit, felt extreme energy, passion, control but kindness, bald man, father, possible evangelist, child, girl, felt not to go on pulpit, not fear, respect for him, he felt passionate about his work but not for his people. Dowsing by Neil: adult, then got yes for teenager, lived here with parents, had brothers and sisters, lived here also, worked here, liked it here. Dowsing: adult male, here with wife, had one daughter and one son, worked here, liked it here and died here.

BURIAL GROUND

GROUP F – 8.00PM

Everyone was drawn to want to go in play area. EMF measured by the gate and came up at 2-3 but also with periodic higher fluctuations. Seemed highest on the gate and locality and to right as facing gate. Also measured for several metres along perimeter going right. One group member was convinced that there was "something" in the left orchard area. Several lights caught on photos by group members but as it was raining it was likely they were raindrops, however Louise and 3 others all saw a large white light move in playground directly in front of gate. We ruled out reflection from cars on the road as nothing to reflect off. Cold spots occurred under gate and the emf meter was kept in situ for 10 mins whilst asking out and requested any spirit to approach and affect it, both times it lost all reading and regained on request, never fluctuating apart from these times in this position.

GROUP B – 9.20PM

Dowsing by Kelly: a teenager aged 13, lived here with grandparents and then the dowsing stopped (possible male).

GROUP A – 10.00PM

Dowsing gate to play area by Alison: the children didnt mind us being there, didnt want to play, safe for them to be here but did not wander from this area, safe and happy when here, but had to think about it. Came here without mum and dad, with other children on playground, no brothers or sisters, lived at Dereham. Dowsing by entrance gate to orchard/burial: Norman, died peacefully, wanted to play with them, they got emf readings by the gate near where they were dowsing, older man on own, the emf readings also came and went.

GROUP D – 10.40PM

An apple landed beside Jenny next to the gate, thrown by a bloke wearing a red jacket, no emf readings.

GROUP H – 11.30PM

Emf meter up to 3, near entrance to play area, morgue, nothing.

GROUP G – not sure of time

Carl got a 15-year-old boy that worked here.

LAUNDRY ROOM

GROUP H – 8.40PM

Jane dowsing: child aged 7, female, with other children, whooshing sound on 1st room, unable to tell how many in corner.

GROUP F – 9.20PM

On entering the first part of the laundry by machines Louise immediately felt very sick and pressure in her chest and solar plexus. One member sensed an accident involving someone’s right arm! We were all drawn straight to the far end, and the TV equipment was also noted at this point not to be working, again! The emf also went crazy. It was 8 degrees colder in here than outside. We heard numerous bangs both in the cupboard and in the far corner behind the sheets. Numerous light anomalies were caught on camera and also seen above a group member’s head. As an experiment at the end, when he went back to the area with Louise, we tried to get further responses with just two people. When stood by the far corner several people including myself reported light-headedness, heavy heads or headaches, in contrast to the previous area. Several also felt drawn past the ropes divide, which we could not do, and we all felt the far right corner was the most active. We took pictures at intervals where noises seemed to emanate from and got light anomalies in most.

We tried dowsing, and despite the man dowsing never having done so before, we received very prompt and angry replies. The spirit did not want to communicate and was not happy they were there. We advised we meant no harm etc, still no, I felt inclined to ask if they used to be in charge and this was their domain, yes. Were they still in charge and was this still their area, yes. Could I ask one more question, didnt even let me finish, no. Would they like us to leave now? yes. Would they make a noise before we left. They seemed very much unwilling to be a performing seal and Louise advised that out of respect we would go to other end. We had a stone or something thrown into the other end as we stood there and felt sick again there. Half of the group went out and we stood watching monitor which appeared to move and went out of focus, shadow and light seen. The sound of someone walking from the far end, as if dragging one leg and noises from inside as we left and walked past the far end windows. Other dowsing, Are you happy for us to communicate with you, no. Would you like us to leave? yes. We wish no harm etc were it ok to speak to you for a few minutes, no. Were you in charge of this area we are in, was this your domain, yes. Is it still your area? yes. Are you standing behind me? yes. Can you make another noise before we leave, no.

A not very pleasant man was sensed on the prelim, was this the same spirit? It is great that a noise was made when the spirit said they would make a noise before the group left and we had no emf readings on the prelim, so the emf readings are interesting!

GROUP E – 11.30PM

Nothing happened, thought heard footsteps outside but it was a flap banging.

GROUP C – 12.15AM

Asked out, if spirits could do anything and Johns camcorder packed up.

ROPE SPLITTING ROOM

GROUP B – 8.00PM

At 8.10pm there was banging in the laundry room (there was no-one in the laundry room at this time), all heard this. Robert smelt a sweet smell.

Dowsing by Verity: female adult, had one son and travelled the country. Worked in Laundry, did not like it here, died here, name of Rosie, friend making noise in laundry room.

TilneyMargaret (Rose)Laundress 1847Ex inmate

There is only records of two other female Tilney, no trace of a male son Tilney, so was this the female they got through dowsing?

GROUP D –8.40PM

Jenny felt she had a dry throat, said like dust blown down. Claire done psychometry on the bed frame, felt flushed, sore throat, closed, ache, cheeks burning. An old man, who was sick. No emf readings. Dowsing by Ruth: boy aged 3, died here at 3, with mother, doesn’t want to play, he wasn’t ill, mother on her own. Dowsing by Karen: Adult, no children, no husband here, did not work here when lived here, did not like it here, possible N for name.

GROUP E – 9.20PM

Dowsing: Child, lived here with parents, lived here with brothers and sisters, did not work here, did not like it here, Christian name of Ian. Different spirit, had brother and sisters, did not live with the spirit, worked here, did not like it here, could not spell, did not die here.

GROUP G – 10.40PM

Nothing noted in this room.

GROUP A – 11.30PM

The outside door was heard to click, the camcorder was directed at the door and something was caught on the camcorder but later examined was dust and an insect. The door was heard to make a noise by most in the room and is captured on camcorder. Dowsing by Sally but everyone asked questions: younger male, he doesn’t want us to leave this room, want to change temperature, no spirit in cupboard next to Carl, this was asked after a photo was taken of a shape in the cupboard, Mark used Johns emf meter and the meter went up outside of the cupboard but not in the cupboard.. Sally’s arm was moved while dowsing, a slight movement on her right arm was captured on camcorder; the spirit wants to play game. Npeg emf meter went to red, through dowsing gained there was another male, not the same one, will not make noise but will touch someone, shy, does mind us being here, explained we mean no harm etc, will not make noise, want us to leave this room. Someone had a bad back since walking in this room. Mark was holding John’s emf meter went off by the outside door and then went to 3mg by the beds and then really high for a while. No other spirits apart from man and boy. The older male was not banging the door; he did not want to do anything. The older male and boy did not work in this room and the older male did not live in workhouse when alive. Every time the boy is mentioned Npeg emf meter went off. Slept in bed in this room, boy is not his son but is related to the boy, brothers. The older male had a wife. Then he said no to everything and we asked if he ever said yes and he said yes and then we had to leave. Different noises were heard in the room. At one point it went very cold nr the creepy figure/sacks.

GROUP F – 12.15AM

Nothing felt so we went to the cottage.

COSTUME GALLERY AND BOARD ROOM

GROUP E – 8.00PM

Board room: Cold breezes on peoples legs, shadow walked past door, A man with a moustache was felt, flashing lights on chairs, temperature 19c, and 23c at leg level.

Costume Room: cold draught on leg. Noise like fax machine from corridor, rustling and beeping, mechanical, no idea what it was, no alarms make that noise. Temperature 18c and at leg level 22c.

GROUP F – 8.40PM

Dictaphone placed on organ by door to passage. Initially nothing sensed in here but all drawn to the door to the passage. Noises like footsteps and bang heard in costume room beyond. One person thought they saw cat walk in the corridor towards the waggon room. We all decided to go into passage and through to the costume room, on entering the costume room the temperature was observed to fluctuate up and down in seconds over a 6deg C gradient on more than one occasion. Louise became very cold quickly and had a feeling of pressure in my chest and increasing difficulty breathing. Also felt sick, mouth salivating as if going to be sick and everyone in the passage area experienced this to some degree. Everyone in the passage and at one point experienced a freezing draft in time; we checked doors and found no draft of any significance or temp different, as the door was not external. I stood in the doorway to the boardroom and had a rushing feeling of energy and sudden sense of someone now behind me in the boardroom. I can only describe this as, someone walking through me, it wasn’t pleasant. I started a dowsing session in the boardroom and we seemed to have a lady who died from a bleed in the brain, she had no children and died at Gressenhall, following a short illness. She refused to give any name details and came there with her husband (not staff). She stopped communication as another group passed in the corridor outside and we seemed to lose her for a while, as if she was scared to continue. Once the group left we heard a bit more from her. Interestingly, during this time, lights were seen turning on and off in a room since confirmed as not being on motion sensors, which means they should not have been on, as noone was there. Further, a dark figure was seen going past the door at speed and was checked but noone was in the vicinity at this time. Dowsing, female adult, did not live here with husband, no children, did not work here, not a nurse, didnt not like it here, did not come here as a child, not an orphan, came here as an adult. Died here, 30 years old, died of illness, with brain bleed, not a long illness, would not give a name. Anne came to mind but no form reply when asked.

It would be interesting to know if names were an issue as 2 females both were unwilling to give them. Something was caught on the dictaphone in this area at approx 9.05pm.

GROUP G – 9.20PM

The corridor between the Waggon room and board rooms, a flashing light was seen. In the Waggon room, footsteps, knocking, flashing lights, childish whispers and a whole different feeling.

GROUP H – 10.00PM

Cold breezes on hands, all sat on table, hands flat on surface, little fingers touching.

GROUP A – 10.40PM

Pinprick of red and pink lights were seen. Costume room lights were seen. The emf meter went off on the top of the table, thought to be the tablecloth, everyone felt calm in the boardroom.

GROUP C – 11.30PM

The emf meter went up to 2 green bars when standing on the table on its own, with no one touching it. Linda had picture of skeletons in the Costume room. The emf meter went up to 2 green bars, again, Lesley and Ali both saw a shadow at the doorway. Ali thought she saw a shadow behind the screen in the costume room.

The emf readings on the table are interesting as not all groups got emf readings and the groups that did get the readings, followed each other into that room and we had no emf readings on the table during the prelim, as i remember distinctly that i checked the table for emf readings.

GROUP E – 8.40PM

Temperature drop. Blue orb seen with eyes and white light seen and red light on wall behind someone’s head. Stairs, 2 people saw black shadow at bottom right hand corner and person saw flash at same time. Toilets, got an orb on photo.

GROUP G – 10.00PM

Flashing lights on the stairs, cold spots around the legs.

GROUP A BRIEF VISIT

No one felt anything in the cell.

GROUP H – 10.40PM

White flashing light was seen.

GROUP B – 12.15AM

Nothing noted here.

COLLECTION GALLERY

GROUP H – 9.20PM

Dowsing: female, born and died here, had 2 sisters, child aged 3, first name Ann, last name Ha, died 1902, mum worked in the laundry, breezes across hands and legs.

GROUP F – 10.00PM

As we all went upstairs one member of group was lagging behind. I leaned over from top of stairwell and saw a dark figure go very fast into main display area, followed by my group member. I asked him again to hurry and that we were all up here all ready, he looked around and continued past the foot of the stairs, and then up as I asked again. He was following the figure I had seen thinking it was me; I had assumed it was another group member lagging behind, but the room was empty as he quickly checked. Not much sensed here. We were all drawn to far end and sat on the chairs and rug here asking out. We had a cold spot between Paul, and me, which went from 23deg C to 16 deg C very quickly and was felt by others in similar places between people. Tried dowsing but seemed to be played with as 2 people tried and both kept getting rods thrown backwards to point at them. Walking out and sensed again as on prelim that we were being watched from end of the rows of cabinets, felt it was a child, orb possibility on photo.

GROUP C – 10.40PM

We asked out and we heard banging noises.

GROUP B – 11.30PM

Nothing noted here.

GROUP A – 12.15AM

We went through to the end where the clock was and all sat on floor, it was cooler in here than other parts of the room. Someone saw a light in the corner nr the doors, Mark checked with the emf meter and got readings of up to 7mg. Mark had cold around his legs, the right side of the door and then he felt his legs warming up, his hands and arms went tingly, still getting emf readings in area (but could be wires under the floor), he felt like his fingers were swelling up, he felt there was more than one child, felt like kids running around him, wanting to hold his hands. He moved as he felt his feet were going to catch fire. There was cold spells/drafts going between people, kids playing around. It got colder by the cabinet area and Carl felt draft was coming from behind him (clock area), the cold spells was described as like someone opening a door, gusts were on the floor about a foot off the floor. Temperature recorder showed it was colder. Someone felt warm on one side and cold on the other side. There was a hot spot (by 1c) in the middle of the cold spot between two people, a possible orb on camcorder, checking footage shows it was dust/insect. It is interesting that two groups had similar experiences of cold spots in the same area.

PORTERS LODGE

GROUP D – 12.50AM

Gemma felt sick, butterflies, nervous, Claire felt pregnant, bloated and Karen felt sick.

THE MEETING ROOM

GROUP C – 8.40PM

Pam said the door outside opened and shut, like someone was going through it, Steve said it was not wind as the door was too heavy. Lesley and Trace done some pendulum dowsing in the corridor, got through a 7 year old boy and a woman who didnt like them being there. Ellie said she thought that something should be in the corner, left hand side, but was not there.

CUPBOARD UNDER THE STAIRS as passing to other areas

GROUP C

The emf meter did not go off near the cupboard.

GROUP A

We got emf readings around the door of the cupboard.

This is interesting as one group got readings and another group did not.

Comments

Group C could not get the dowsing rods to work all night; this is interesting, as other groups had no problems. The emf readings were interesting, as on the prelim we had no readings at all apart from the Burial ground and by the red post box in the Seed Merchants, we seemed to get alot of emf readings on the actual night, but not all groups got readings in the same areas as other groups did. And bearing in mind we have 5 people at one time checking each room for emf readings on the prelim. Overall a very interesting night and many thanks to the Gressenhall Staff for being wonderful and thanks to Radio Broadland for asking us to help for a 2nd year and of Course thanks to all Npeg members for their hard work on the night.

Group a: David D, Deborah W, Joanna G, Susannah A, Jackie A, Dee G

Group b: Siofra, Lisa H, Melanie R, Anna R, Sara H, Tina W. K (T, vigils)

Group c: Nichola C, Hayley C, Miwa B, Lesley F, Ali J. L

Group d: Ali C, Pamela K, Liz H, Margaret S, Jono, Siobnhan M, M (J, vigils)

At 8.05pm, L and Miwa heard a high pitch whimper, we were leaving kitchen and had back to smoking stairs door, noise came from behind us.

VIGILS IN PLANT ROOM

GROUP A & B, K and Anna felt fuzzy headed as first entered plant room, got better after a while. The group sitting nr the door, Deborah & Susannah felt a cold breeze between them. The room got colder. Group back of room – T felt a male presence, had come close to us. Heard noises nr the left side of this area, where all stuff was stacked. Different lights were seen from this area, the lights were by the wall nr the entrance door area as looking towards that area (right side of that room). K heard a loud exhale to right of her. Security was standing in the doorway and felt an extreme sense of foreboding to his right behind barriers, like a presence. People sitting near the entrance felt the temperature drop near the end of the vigil. Jackie felt a constant throbbing to the right shoulder and saw a white solid shape, to her right, was there for several seconds until she looked away and back, a drop in temperature. Siofra and Mel felt breeze between them on their arms. Deborah, pain in teeth, cold breeze to her right and on top of her hand, lot of tingling on head. Possible light in left hand corner opposite to where she was sitting. Susie, cold breeze from behind, saw a white dot when first arrived, darting about, but could be a moth. Dave, done a solo vigil in triangular rm, nothing happened but heavy headed. Dave saw a light at 9.20pm near the fire exit, Sara & Tina also saw this, still feeling heavy headed. Sara saw a lot of lights on a wall which she was facing (entrance door area) & at the right at the end of room (nr fire exit). Crystal, nothing in here but a cooling of temperature, especially towards the end of the vigil, on top of hands and legs (calves). Anna felt dizzy but might be because it’s stuffy. Tina, back end, saw light at end nr door (fire exit).

GROUP C & D, Miwa felt nothing in the main room & nothing In the triangular rm, Jono & Miwa done a vigil in the triangular room, Jono picked up man, saw a blue light, pretty Lady in white, wedding dress style, white parasol spinning around, a grand manor house with a grand staircase, sees a 3 tiered fountain, 1920’s car, car didn’t go with the lady time wise, car 1920’s but lady 1800’s. Miwa, back room, saw white mist by end door, few white lights shot across leaving slight vapour trail, felt something go behind me & same time m caught something strange on his camera, (see video). Pam & Ali felt heavy in the t room. At 9.10pm Jono felt a stabbing. At 9.30pm Ali & M heard a slight paper movement. Miwa got the name of John Cuoge, odd thing caught on M camera at 9.55pm. Vicky & Jamie (Castle Mall Staff) saw a shadow moving, quick movement, corner of eye (far right hand corner when coming in door. A cold spot was felt with temperature reading of 23-24ºC but in the rest of the room 22.1ºC, L & Maggie. Hayley’s phone turned on & went very cold in front of her. Alison, towards the end, felt very chilly. Unnamed, calm spirit, felt so relaxed, body felt like dead weight, cold breeze down left arm. Ali, a tap behind me on the paper, the name Charlie Barns, a girl in long green dress with a straight neck line across the chest & sleeves to the elbows with white lace on the edge of the cuffs, the name Sarah is linked. Triangular room, just a feeling of heaviness. Margaret, sensing an invasion and privacy, intrusion, a lot of solar plexus, emotional energy, entity linking on an emotional vibration, persecuted for their beliefs and probably died for them, wishes to go at the eight, extremely distressed, in confinement, squatting and rocking male entity. Plant room, young woman, Elizabethan dress worked on a farm outside city walls, care for studious and ?? Came on a loving vibration, curious about us and way of life. Enjoying her life even though it was hard work & long hours. A gentle soul who was content, wouldn’t want to live now. Asked her to give us something tangible so that we could all sense her, a warm feeling that made us feel relaxed? Peaceful. Showed me her hands that were red, chapped, rough with the work she did & had what appeared to be wooden shoes/clogs on her feet, her name Anne. Flashes of scenes, plague, ??? Leaving city to sail on the mayflower. Pam, Triangular room, felt very heavy, back in the main room, both Ali & Pam saw a flashing light, also felt for some reason to ask spirit if they could understand English.

TRACY’S COMMENTS: Both groups felt cold breezes, lights were s, heard noises in the same area, when this area was used as an office, papers were moved in this area, so interesting that some heard paper being moved. Both groups saw a solid type light and this was caught on camcorder by M in the second group.

VIGIL IN BACK ARGOS AREA

GROUP C & D, 2ºC temp difference, Maggie senses a distressed person, because of beliefs. Temp drop from 24.1ºC to 21.7ºC, between Elizabeth and Ali. At 8.50pm the door light went off as the group left. L, Miwa and Ali, a bang noise on the stairs. At 9.00pm a draft was felt (nr stair door) with temperature of 22ºC & at 9.10pm the temperature dropped to 21.8ºC (which is not significant). At 9.15pm, L was feeling sick. Lesley felt light-headed. Hayley, cold spots nr Plant room 9.4. Nikki, tapping noise behind the metal doors. Alison, didn’t feel much, maybe a little breeze, but it might have been the door. Miwa, quite oppressive, slight headache, noise of keys 8.50pm, by lift, sounds odd, feeling nauseous (high voltage, B), further up, someone killed, act grat! Head in vice. Unnamed, chill, tingling fingers, flash headache. Liz, felt tightness in chest and throat, had a tingling on her left arm and it felt really heavy. Saw a yellow flash of light on the ceiling near the doorway at the end of the corridor, had jailer come into mind. Ali, felt really hot, smell of sun tan lotion. Pam, cold breeze on way to area at 8.35pm. Felt dizzy and wanted to cry at 8.50pm, hand tingling.

GROUP A & B, As going down to this area, some people smelt a burning smell on the stairs, Sara & Tina went with T, as we entered the area through the double doors (nr plant rm 9.2) light was on and turned off, Security said light had been on all night & should stay on. All heard a noise by T bag, Sara thought something hit the bag, all heard bell alarm going off, nothing on this deck according to security, different alarm to what we heard. At 9.40pmish, Tina, Sara and T all heard a noise as T was walking away from the double doors (plant rm 9.4), not camera as it don’t move, Sara, phone noise as T walks pass as if they wanted to talk to her. Eric (security) could not explain it, sorta sound like phone sound. At 9.20pm Jackie’s camcorder battery drained fast. Tinkling heard above heads, nr door came in. Platform 9.11, very cold breeze coming out from under door, very strong, security said it was colder than it should have been, witnessed by Dave, Deborah, Jackie, Joanna, Suzie and G. End where 1st went in, Deborah got touched on hand nr doorway plant room 9.2, Loading bay nr no 8 bay, end light turned off and then on again, twice. Photo’s taken by G and Susie came out blurred, in the same area. Sara also witnessed this along with Tina also witnessed the light going off and back on, she also had a stabbing pain in her chest. Temperature 22ºC by platform 9.4 door keeps opening lightly (maybe draught). Temperature after 5 mins, 24ºC, near T group (nr plant rm 9.2), temp dropped 22.9ºC, feels a lot cooler. Temperature 24.3ºC near Tracy but breezy, 21.5ºC after a minute, 22ºC after another minute, then 23.3ºC, but higher where no breeze was of 24ºC. Deborah, heavy head – little alcove, swaying feeling, touched on hand further down corridor. Loading bay Debbie felt breathless; light went out & came back on loading dock 8. Susie, some pictures came out black & light went on & off. Susie, draught under door, picture orange light (Argos back door). Joanna, very strong breeze underneath the door (nr Argos door). Joanna, all photos came out black, light went off & came back on again (loading bay). Dave, breeze under door, Guard said room was much colder than it should be. Siofra, Mel & Lisa heard an odd buzz/grr noise around Argos Goods in & felt that the loading bay was a very still atmosphere.

TRACY’S COMMENTS: Both groups felt breezes.

GLASS MOVING - Unit TU07 – Haagen-Dazs

GROUP A, Deborah felt her finger was being pushed off and had boiling hot pins and needles in right arm. At 10.45pm G heard sound like door shutting, behind her, security not near door and no-one appeared or left. Tracy smelt alcohol and Jackie smelt something. Got a Male spirit. Dave, felt a strong pressure in his forehead and a tickle in his throat, lost his voice a little bit.

GROUP D, Male, worked in Norwich pub/inn on this site, died aged 54, Coach and Horses stop, died at the inn, natural causes. Also a spirit came through that was known to the sitters and it is inappropriate to state what was gained. Miwa, glass moved eventually, male, liked happy people.

GROUP C, Hayley & Nikki, man like us laughing and jokes, didn’t really like the first few glasses we used. Alison, glass moving worked very well, came up with male, also enjoyed our laughter.

GROUP B - Andrew, murdered in this building, for a crime he committed, stole, died 1900’s, was upset but left being ok. Battery in dictaphone had died.

END OF NIGHT: spirits for people doing the glass moving & I think it is inappropriate to state details of what information we gained as its personal.

TRACY’S COMMENT: the spirits that related to the land were male related for all 4 groups, there was a pub/inn on this site but without more information we can not confirm what we gained and 2 groups had a male that liked happy people, so could have been the same male. The spirit Andrew was also picked up during dowsing.

PSYCHOMETRY – ON BRIDGE

GROUP B, nothing on psychometry, down steps onto castle meadow someone a very horse smell, like stables, very strong at bottom of the steps. Tina smelt a strong horse manure smell. Sara could smell strong horse smell, stables, and manure all in the same area. GROUP A, Jackie felt brickwork, made head fuzzy and heavy, partial headache to 3rd eye, area felt wobbly to legs, unsteady, head now cleared at 11.15pm. Deborah, black flies and jeering crowd. Dave, kept seeing images of hands, one was skeletal but in a green light. Another had a white cuff (looked like it was lace), but it was a man’s hand. The image made me think of Oliver Cromwell, I think because I remember seeing a picture of him wearing a garment with a lace cuff.

GROUP D, only a few people done psychometry as some were reading the history boards on the castle wall!!!! Miwa, like at bottom of well & looking up at light, side of well made of brick/redbrick & slowly spinning, waves! Pam, touched the gates & got the feeling of fighting swords, horses and roundheads.

GROUP C, Hayley, felt like I was seeing a man up a window after either pushed or hanged someone (I’ve seen this on video). Hayley, didn’t feel anything.

TRACY’S COMMENTS: in the area where manure was smelt use to be the horse market. The jeering crowd and black files and wobbly legs could be due to public hangings that took place here.

PLANCHETTE – moat area, core 11

GROUP C, nothing reported.

GROUP B, J asked for a noise & all heard a noise a tap/clap noise some thought in corner behind J, some thought from steps area. Sara, it was weird as it wanted to move with us but the energy was there after we had finished there was a dot bigger than what it was if left on the paper.

GROUP A, J felt very emotional when calling for a spirit to come forward & communicate with the next group, I was not alone but had gone by the time the group arrived.

GROUP D 12.06am, Jono picked up an emotional feeling on his left side. 12.10am, Jono, man holding a quill pen with ink. At 12.20am, Jono picked up Jack/Wolsom, John cavaliers, musketeers, on a horse riding, green uniform.

DOWSING, CAR PARK 2, NR BARRIERS, ST JOHNS

GROUP D, sound of a scraping noise 10.40pm, Jono head was hurting, Ali felt a little boy, with back pain/Ali and Pam. At 11.20 & 11.25pm, doors banging, in response to calls out. Alison, male 20’s, didn’t die here, no girlfriend, had mum and dad, name begin with C. Miwa, cupboard pr25.6, deep mumble then 2 knocks, but no response when asked to do it again, door rattled and no draughts. Female, stuck here, hissing vent and security said it had not made that noise before. Maggie, Eleanor C (culpepper), aged 18 years old when died in 1669, lived here, had ring a ring a roses come to mind, already made self known. Pam, adult male, died here but didn’t live here; John N aged 27 when died in 14thc before 1430 (this does not tally as 14th is not 1400’s). Ali, Natalie Adams, aged 6, died in 1501, died here but not lived here. Siobhan, Elizabeth (Bet) C, died 27 years old, died in 14th c, 1504 and did not die of natural causes. Liz, female child, younger than 10, did not die or live here, had family but were not here and not happy here. The family name of Adam was known in various parts of Norwich during 1891.

GROUP C, Lesley a male spirit didn’t die here, murdered not in this century, not this spirit making banging noises with door. Nikki, died here, not happy here, not wanting to harm them, name begin with N aged 30’s, not alone here. Hayley, died here, happy here, name begin with P aged 30, name of Paul and his is not alone here. 2 loud bangs, noise like a burst water pipe. Hayley, male, did not die here, not happy here, name began with C, aged 20’s, not alone, loud bangs heard.

GROUP B, got frightened spirit. Siofra, Mel and Lisa gained, Andrew G, killed aged 30, murdered here at home, married, wife not alive, lived nr Norwich.

GROUP A, dowsing, Car park 2, nr barriers, St John’s – 3 spirits, something touched Susie’ s shoulder, child spirit. Stairs off car park 2, court 4, 5 spirits, and hands tingle too much to continue. (Core 4) Jackie felt pain to neck, slight out of breath, mid way stairs floors 3 to 4. Jackie did not dowse but got male, 40’s died with collapse and heart attack this was verified by our security guide Duncan. Deborah gained Tom Pickford, died 1700’s, live here, died not murdered at age 47 in 1783, she asked him to touch her and she felt something on the back of her head, she asked if it was him and he said yes. Deborah saw white shape move up between Joanna and herself (stair area off car park) and lots if tingling on head. Susie got 3 spirits, something touched her shoulder. Joanna, 2 male spirits, only one died here and was murdered. Dave, Lady spirit who worked here in 19th century, was happy here.

Tina gained a female spirit, they lived here, died here, someone killed them, 10-15 spirits in the room also gained Andrew Edwards, 31 years old, married, 4 children, 18th century. The name of Pickford was known in Norwich during 1891 and the surname of Edwards was known in the parish of St John’s Timberhill during 1891.

VIGIL IN PLANT ROOM (other one)

GROUP A & B Security walkie-talkies flashing like getting message but nothing came through & security said this was not normal. G had pain down left side of face through nose and eye from skull. Susanna saw a shadow behind Pam.

GROUP C & D, vigil in plant room (other one) – People felt nervous. Miwa, nauseous & banging head, the headache went after 5 minutes of leaving the room.

VIGIL IN LOADING DOCK BH1014

Unnamed: saw a shadow on the wall.

GROUP C & D, , Mark felt like his neck was being pulled back in the bin area, Miwa, feeling of nauseous. Sinister, rattling when Jono called out, noises in lift, Pam, not nice at all.

GROUP A & B, Sara felt uneasy down corridor at back of Norwich and Peterborough. Opposite side, G felt need to go around the corner, took photos, blurred like moving. K got headache then felt sick nr lifts to doors, Anna doesn’t like this corridor, Anna & Jackie said it felt different (no high voltage in this area). Anna walked with rods and it crossed at exactly same place. Anna doesn’t like bin area & felt there was something behind her. Jackie feels like waiting form something to charge round the corner like raging horses (opposite corridor), hard to breathe, pain to back, returned, 10 mins later fine. Susanna, caught an orb on camera.

TRACY’S COMMENTS: interesting as both groups felt sick and both witnessed stuff around the lift and both groups didn’t like the same area.

PARAPSYCHOLOGY: From a parapsychology point of view, because there is high voltage in the plant rooms, Argos areas, it is suggested that people will think they are feeling/sensing/seeing paranormal happenings when actually they are not, as the high voltage affects the brain and therefore anything that is sensed/felt/seen is not paranormal but electrical fields affecting the brain. This is interesting, as some were feeling sick, dizzy and suffered from headaches in these areas and this suggests that the high voltage did affect some people.

dragon hall - norwich - 17th march 2007

DRAGON HALL 17th March 2007. We raised £477.06 for RNIB, thanks to everyone who attended Dragon Hall as below:

Helen S, David S, Gemma B, Ollie S, Chris S, Lesley F, John F, Heidi H, Laura D, Paula H, Jackie A, Evelyn D, Jane D, Tara M, Ali C, Pamela K, Debbie D, Becky N, Dave S, Kerry T, Glen B, Graham R, Rebecca C, Luci-Ann, Elizabeth H, Sandra H, Emily B, Miwa B, Jono A, Deborah W, David R, Julie C, Lisa C, Siofra C, Melanie R, Lisa H, Sarah F, Siobhan M and all Npeg members.

PSYCHOMETRY- GREAT HALL- GROUP A: GEMMA B, horse and carriage, religion (this site has several religious connections). HELEN S, music drum (hand held), voices laughter, dancing, feels hot (could this be when this building was transformed to a pub? Or connect to Jane’s below). DAVID S, felt fire, was this place damaged by fire? (see below) OLLIE S, old bloke with a white beard, dressed in a type of military or army uniform. It feels to be around the 1700’s, he seems a very senior figure. I feel an image of two or three large tables with men eating a dinner being served by servants. It seems again to be in 1700’s. All the men seemed to be knights or bishops (has connections to Woburn Abbey and part of this building became the Vicarage/Rectory of St Julian but not sure on dates). CHRIS S, had strong feeling of being pushed out of window whilst looking out. Feel that building would have been left derelict at some point due to extensive damage. Roof would have been missing for a time. Wildlife living in rafters, e.g. birds, roof originally thatched (correct), would be intrigued to see under the floor boards (there was damaged during the War in 1942, to what extent i don’t know. While the Old Barge Inn, Temporary closure August 1969 became permanent. Building substantially restored by local council following closure, purchased in 1979 from Watney Mann). GROUP B: sorry no names on these but I will number them, 1: fields, old beams, felt fire; left wall, dizzy feeling, sharp pain to the head, arch/beam, light-head, windows; cold. 2:unbalanced, light headed, gallows, driftwood, burning wood smell, flagpole, tingling in fingers (opposite hand to touching wood), and vibration under foot. 3: felt like I was moving back and forward, like on a boat. 4:Dizziness, blurred vision, stinging eyes (burning). 5: man in a large hat, lots of ladies and gentlemen dressed in fine clothes, swords, pressure on back of neck, heavy feeling. GROUP C: JACKIE A: 2nd window, saw fingers very old with swollen knuckles, could hear small sols of young girl child, crying because mother has left/died. Far end wall, throat constricts and get dry, cough. Beam, frustrated, waiting for someone who is late, very late, and they need to be here, name Boswell, useless man, beam 2, feeling of lightheadness and headachy and again choking feeling (see below). Pungent smell of apples, past best. JANE D, newly decorated by Norman people, lots of colour for an important man to stay/visual possibly royalty. They came after the city was recognised and lots of new buildings sprang up, a new entrance or arch was made for this occasion and local people marched through the streets and were formally recognized. Something about wool (correct) and a John and Marie not necessary together but same period. A sit in or lock in, people barricading themselves in through their own choice. A main stopping place on a canal/river for trade which turned into quite a corrupt place where people feared to come after dark during hard times plague/revolution, not a major revolution more a person revolution. A place of justice more a holding place than a prison, not often used for this purpose (Toppes did own the Guildhall). Some wood and material brought somewhere else when part of the building was rebuilt (Toppes rebuilt the originally building to a trading hall in the 1400’s and Toppes imported from Holland and Belgium). Something’s missing from the roof, possible a bell or flag, vervain? Strong sense of medieval music being played and a celebration, which went wrong in the medieval period, which changed everything. TARA, Albert Threatened aged 44, black plague, grain around Second World War, 3 tunnels, severed right arm, missing pictures (shutters), spear, armour (1821, 1862, 1936). Window/glass not original, iron, flood, hanging (battle), 3 lights hanging missing, mill, waterwheel, treachery/betrayal, 3 people monk (abbot), (has connections to Woburn Abbey and part of this building became the Vicarage/Rectory of St Julian but not sure on dates). Tudor 3 homes Thomas Nicholson, sacrifice, crossway. Roof leaks-September, poverty stricken, where is the cross? footsteps have been heard, chilling breeze, hair tugged, fair left room, arch, Louis Montgomery (did have 3 homes but not sure when). EVEY, cold, uneasy, gold silk, red bright colours, dust, market place, hustle and bustle, money, pieces of coins, table (some stuff laid out), pottery, china, rugs, spices/sage, monks, shoemaker/cobbler, blacksmith, tea, Joseph, (some of the licensees also were traders ( Clicker: Shoe trade worker, also leather worker. Printer’s assistant. Also Tallyman. Cordwainer: Shoemaker (not bootmaker). Originally using Cordovan Spanish leather. In practice made other objects from leather (i.e. leather bottles) and this was a trading hall and includes a lot of the above items mentioned). GROUP D: ALI C, Blood, sounds of bell, baby in an old fashioned cradle with a bonnet on (possible church bells, as opposite church?). BEX N, pushed away, hands went dead, burning, dizziness, heavenly relaxed, calm. DAVE S, Cold, horse and carts. DEBBIE D, Lady serving a customer a man (like a shop), at far end of great hall, buying cloth, money changes hands (this can be confirmed as this area was a trading hall and cloth was traded). GROUPE&F: GLEN, feeling it hard to breath, aching back, not a happy place, feeling of lots of things being brought in and out, potentially used for storage, wool brought in from a local source, fire on premises? (visual) (this was a trading/storage hall export/import and wool was used locally, also see below). REBECCA, felt like that a lot of renovation had taken place, i.e. felt like a new building (this is correct). EMILY saw boats, white sails, large boats on river, several (3?), sails per boat, transporting materials, i.e. wood, (visual from out of window) (items were transported by boats). JONO, a German link (Germany pottery was imported). GROUPG & H: SIOFRA, annoyed, colour blue. Horse and cart, man on it, black pointed hat with feather, had pain in head and shoulders, shivers down spine. Long passageway, feeling sad, misty, like a cathedral. DAVID D, saw several portraits one after the other, they were of people in Elizabethan dress. First woman wore dull red bodice with pale green puffed sleeves. She was dark haired-tied back with a pale, round (chubby) face. Tightly pursed lips, quite an unfriendly look. I also saw a bearded man in elaborate clothing and a woman who looked like Elizabeth I (Occupant during Elizabethan time was a major called John Whitfield who also owned Keels. Queen Elizabeth I did visit Norwich, did she visit this property while in Norwich?) Tracy’s comments: I found the notes from this part of the night the most interesting, some of the information can be confirmed but for me the most interesting is the information that can not be confirmed, several times horse and cart/carriage is mentioned and also a fire is mentioned several times. The roof is mentioned, lightheadness, dizziness, a flag/pole is mentioned twice, could the choking feeling/hard to breathe and the stinging eyes (burning) be connected to the fire that other people picked up? I will continue to research and if/when any more information can be confirmed it will be added. I am quite sure I read somewhere that there was a fire at Dragon Hall but I can not find any records of this, I will of course continue to research.

PSYCHIC ART-GREAT HALL – I am aware that while group E were doing psychic art, that two people drew the same picture of a woman and they were opposite ends of the room, so that is really interesting. While Evey was doing psychic art, she wrote down what she got as follows: man name of Johnson, aged 52/53, bald on top, hair goes all way round the middle of the head and down, chestnut brown, bushy eyebrows, beard, blue eyes, weathered looking, outside a lot, long tunic, blue with patterned trim, black belt, loose fitting white shirt, legging type trouser, pixie type boots, knows quite a lot of people or he is well known, everybody knows his face, market trader, wears something around neck on long chain or piece of string (money bag or cross), Christian but not strict believer, good honest man. (We can confirm that there was a man by the name of Johnson that was a licensee of The Old Barge Inn and this site has several religious connections). I have had several people contact me since saying that the history sheet I complied and was handed out at the end of the night confirmed what they had drawn/sensed while doing this activity.

Tracy’s comments, both myself and Mark could not find any historical records to support the dowsing findings, but it does not mean the people did not exist, as records were not kept very good in days of old. But it was a mixture of spirit not living/dying here or living here and not dying here or dying here and not living here, this to me was interesting, as there were few spirits that actually lived and died here obtained during the dowsing, did some spirit come in from elsewhere to talk to people or was it residual energy being picked up or is there another explanation?

EQUIPMENT/BASE LINE READINGS – DISPLAY ROOMS - GROUP A: Unexplainable emf reading were recorded in the School Room, by both the outside windows and door (king st side) and a reading of 25mg in the middle of the room by the table, these were not constant. The temperature by the north side of the room was colder than by the south side (king st side). The Rectory, there were emf readings by the door, about half way up. We had problems with the thermometers, they kept reading Lo but the battery indicator was showing a full battery, bearing in mind all equipment was checked before we got to Dragon Hall. Group B: Unexplainable emf readings were recorded in the School room, by both outside windows and door (king st side), there were also two unexplainable emf readings in the middle of the room in different locations, and this was not constant and came and went. The temperature recorded on the north side of the room at averaging 16-16.6◦c but on the south side of the room (king st side) the temperature was reading between 14.7-15.4◦c, most could feel it was colder in this area. Middle room, there was emf readings recorded by the door and in the sw corner (alcove). We had problems with the thermometers, they kept reading Lo but the battery indicator was showing a full battery, bearing in mind all equipment was checked before we got to Dragon Hall. GROUP D: School room: The temperature recorder kept going Lo all of the time. Jane had a stud gun and it kept flicking and acting strange. K held it and nothing happened. Temperature dropped from 21.6 to 19.2◦c then went off and would not work, near the door in front of the entrance about 5 mins later it started to work again with readings of 16.8 from 18.3◦c, Jane got a temperature of 15.6◦c the right corner near TV screen. Rectory: 1 emf fluctuated low reading at the bottom of the steps but other emf meters did not pick this up and the meter worked fine in the rest of the room. Temperature 17.8◦c, both emf meters fluctuated near the display (could be electrical), temperature recorder still reading lo, near rectory door 14◦c. Middle of the room: emf reading went to yellow a few times in little alcove, on floor next to fireplace, constant on yellow. Emf on caution round heater but stud gun didn’t pick anything up. While Jane was holding the emf meter, on orange (10-20mg) all the way along the floor out of alcove up to red (25mg) at cupboard along wall. Other emf meters didn’t pick up anything in alcove. Temperature 15.0◦c in alcove, but hi in the middle of the room. Jane emf went up to red down the ram into the middle room. Jane got yellow reading all along the floor in rectory, same part as middle room and on the way out, flickered to (25+ mg) (I would suggest its cables in the flooring). K got a temperature of 6.8◦c just as she was leaving the School room and it was the first reading since being in here. Tracy’s comments: The readings of the three groups in the above rooms would suggest that the emf readings were normal as all groups got similar emf readings in the same areas, stud guns were used to rule out electrical explanations but the emf readings were not constant either, as I was in two of the groups I witnessed this and at the time I could find no explanation for the emf readings. I have since tested the thermometers with the same batteries and they are all working normally. Group E: The Old Barge Room, The temperature by the window was 15◦c and 18◦c in the middle of the room. There were emf readings in the SSW corner of yellow (2.5-10mg) and emf readings of 20+mg in the NNW corner of the room. GROUP H: The old Barge Room, There were emf readings of 2.5-10mg in the SSE corner and emf readings in the SSW corner of yellow (2.5-10mg). GROUP G: Sorry no notes for this group. Unfortunately nothing is stated to say that the stud guns ruled out normal explanations of electrical cables etc on the notes from the other groups.

VIGILS – UPPER CELLAR - GROUP D: Some people were very cold; something was felt between two people, it was just cold to one side of the chairs, to right facing the tv screen. The cold then moved to another part of the room, K felt two cold blasts to the left of her, near the camera stand. Plug on the wall kept going darker and lighter, 3 people kept seeing this happen. K felt a slight touch on her right arm, asked spirit to do it again and she felt it again. Other people could also feel this. Someone eeps as they saw a purple square on the light switch.

GROUP G: Deborah sensed fire, sore throat, hard to breath, at 8.58pm at tap was heard and at 8.59pm a flash was seen. Dave felt hot and pressure, Deborah felt had was tingling. At 9.07pm the tv went out of focus. Sorry I have no notes for the other groups.

1st séance – old barge Room, We didn’t have anything significant happen, maybe a couple of noises but this can not be ruled out by the noise coming from elsewhere in the building and/or the drunks outside of the building. 1st séance – lower cellar/undercrofts to be added soon. 1st vigil – Display room, sorry no notes. 1st vigil – Great hall – north wing area. Cold spots and one person felt a tickling on the top of their head. 2nd Séance - Old barge Room to be added soon. 2nd Séance – Lower cellar/undercroft, A few noises were heard in various parts of the cellar, lights and mist were seen, a presence was felt behind some people, mainly Ali. Jane had her hair moved and this was visible to most people sitting in the séance and Ali later had her hair moved. Pam had pressure on her neck/shoulders. T, K and Jane heard a huh/breathing out noise.

EVENTS ROOM/BASE ROOM

At 7.30pm Jackie A, entered the room and opened up and felt like was waiting form something nasty to happen and could hear machinery with a repetitive sound very quickly moving, dull rumble of machinery in background. (We have found that there were metalworking shop (16-18th century), small scale craft and industry (pre 13th century), many shops and pubs (19th century) some of the licensees also were traders ( Clicker: Shoe trade worker, also leather worker. Printer’s assistant. Also Tallyman. Cordwainer: Shoemaker (not bootmaker). Originally using Cordovan Spanish leather. In practice made other objects from leather (i.e. leather bottles). While Npeg were packing away at the end of the night, Tracy witnessed some chairs being pushed as they were folded up and stacked against the banister/stairs area, i actually saw them being pushed and not just falling/slipping, the chairs fell to the ground and was witnessed by other members of Npeg.
